We call this cabin "The Bunk House". It is nestled in the tall pines of northern Arizona, just off a stretch of the historic Route 66 and is a campers dream vacation. It is an hours drive to the the Grand Canyon, 25 minutes west of Flagstaff, & 45 minutes north of Sedona. The adjacent one room log cabin, which has a queen bed & private 1/2 bath, is an additional charge. Within "whisteling" distance of the Bunk House. Elk hunters, we are in area 7 west. In the summer there is a herd of bull Elk that come right onto the property. If you like to fish you are close to 4 lakes. If you like to hike you don't have far to go. The mountains are right here. The elk, deer, fox, raccoons, & coyotes make the best neighbors. The Bunk House is a rural cabin and has no stove. Most cooking is done outdoors. We do however provide a refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, coffee maker & BBQ grill. You probably won't have time to care but there is a TV & DVD player. Mother nature provides the well known Arizona sunset & serenity. Toaster oven and crock pot are available upon request. Whether you are visiting the Grand Canyon, planning a vacation in the pines, you are a skier, a hunter, a fisherman, a camper that doesn't want to have to sleep in a tent, a Route 66 fan, or just want some fresh air, this cabin is in an ideal spot. The Grand Canyon Railway out of Williams is an excellent way to see the canyon & only a 15 min drive. The cabin is located between Flagstaff & Williams. It is on private property but the Kaibab National Forest is on the north & east sides. Ideal for hunting, hiking, or playing in the snow. The San Francisco Peaks & Snow bowl are a must see even in the summer. Nearby is a large lava tube which is one of the areas best kept secrets. Plan an entire day for the Grand Canyon, another day for the ski lift at Snow Bowl or a Route 66 day in Flagstaff & Williams. The Polar Express, sponsored by, the Grand Canyon Railway is a great way for little ones to see the canyon during the Christmas Holidays. The Cabin is within walking distance of the old Parks historical country store. Built in the 1930's out of railroad ties milled in Flagstaff, The Bunk House has plenty of character. Nothing fancy, just peaceful & comfortable. | |
