The Coves is a renovated home built in the early 1900’s by the Bursey family from England who sited their house by the sea where they fished. The Change Islands is an easy-to-get-to, yet out-of-the-way beautiful 19th century secret, one hour north of Gander Airport, via a 20 minute ferry-ride from Farewell. The Coves is a comfortable 4 bedroom home surrounded by 5 private coves and 2 islands. Greenland is to the north-east and Ireland to the east. The house is fully equipped. Hiking trails, shore walks, and a wealth of traditional 19-Century architecture surrounds the tickle that runs between the north and south islands connected by a bridge. There are grocery shops, restaurants, a small museum and interpretation centre on Change Islands. Whales and icebergs are also occasional visitors to the area. Daytrips to Twillingate, Musgrave Harbour, and Fogo Island are just off the ferry. Some say that Change Islands is like a quiet Tofino of years past.
