The unit was originally a duplex but has been opened up to make one unit. There is a bedroom, bath, kitchen and living room on each side laid out in a mirror image of each other. The living area on each side has a sleeper sofa. A divider can be closed to provide some privacy between the two halves for parties that want to share the unit.

There are over 20 eating and drinking establishments within 1/2 mile. The train station, village center and many quaint shops are within easy walking distance. Offshore Surf Shop is one block away for surfboard rental and the local surfing is excellent. Next door is Five Star Tamarack Beach Resort with Dini's Restaurant and bar. Two blocks down is Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort.
