Acadia Explorer Cabin
This modern, rustic log cabin is perfect for that romantic getaway for two or a SMALL family to get away from it all and get back to nature. The cabin, built in 2000, measures 16' x 20' and features ONE large "L" shaped room, which consists of a queen size bed, a small writing table and a pull out futon couch/bed combo. The efficiency type kitchen is designed for those who like to travel light. Features include a double sink, microwave, stove top, coffee maker, small dorm style fridge, stacked washer/dryer, kitchen table with 4 chairs. The owners supply bath towels, hand towels and face clothes. Plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, cups, toilet paper and paper towels are supplied by owners. Cooking supplies (pots and pans and utilsils) are also supplied by owners. Renters will need to bring their own bedding and sleeping pillows. It has a roomy bath with shower and the whole cabin is heated and cozy for those cool nights. Outside features include a screened-in porch with 2 chairs and a small table, a picnic table inside a screen house, a BBQ grill in a spacious back yard and a patio bonfire pit for those cool star lit nights. You have your own PRIVATE entrance to Acadia National Park. Pets and Smoking are not allowed. The cabin is not handicapped accessible.
Surroundings:
The cabin is nestled at the base of Acadia's Mansell Mountain. Water recreations within a short driving distance include swimming, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Boat rentals and other recreations such as, golf, tennis, hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding, whale watch cruises, glider rides, Park Ranger tours, bird watching, lighthouse tours, oceanarium and galleries are within a short driving distance. Walking or biking from your front door brings you to thousands of acres of beauty in Acadia National Park. The village of Southwest Harbor, only a short drive away, offers all of the services you need for your trip. Larger shopping areas are located 30 minutes away, off the island.
