We offer you a romantic get-away on the beach in Buena Vista, Mexico (area of Los Barriles). Casitas del Mar is about 45 minutes north of the Los Cabos Airport and on the Sea of Cortez. Our two casitas are new and designed to provide for maximum comfort at a reasonable price. We offer modern necessities such as DishTv and DSL hookups so that you can keep in touch with home, family or work (not too much work is allowed!) We are located so that you can be close to town (about 1 mile) where there are restaurants, grocery, stores, and places to search for good buys and still come home to a peaceful residential neighborhood with miles of beautiful white sandy beach. Each casita has roughly 500 sq feet of traditional mexican style indoor living space. The outside terraza or lawn provides another 900-1,000 sq ft of attached inside/outside living. Most likely you will find yourself staying outside as much as inside and always looking at the sea from a lawn chair or even when taking a shower.

From here the Sea of Cortez is the main attraction. You may see at any time ospreys diving for a seafood breakfast, pelicans, frigate birds, grey or humpback whales, dolphin and porpoise, manta family rays jump into the air, and large schools of sardines being chased by rooster fish. If you want to go fishing for marlin, tuna, or dorado (mahi mahi) we can help you find a skipper and boat. Just give us a few days notice! This area was fished and explored at an earlier age by the likes of Chuck Conners, John Wayne, John Steinbeck, and a host of other celebrities who wanted to escape to a secluded beach where they could enjoy a private vacation. Where they used to stay is just a few hundred yards down the beach from our casitas and as guests of Casita del Mar you have the right to use the pool at "The Ranch". In the early winter months fishing takes a back seat to both windsurfing and kiting. This area is also well know as a "go to" place for these sports!
