Second Peninsula comprises a rich drumlin, bounded by the waters of Mahone Bay and the approaches to Lunenburg's Back Harbour. Pastoral countryside and sheltered coves unfold as one travels the winding road along Second Peninsula's southern shore. Historic Lunenburg has been for a couple of years an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area enjoys complete amenities: Stores, restaurants, banks and a theatre. Lunenburg as well as the other nice neighbouring town Mahone Bay are both within about a 10 minute drive from Second Paradise. It is approximately an hour's drive to Halifax with the International Airport. Choose the accommodation that suits your taste, your mood, and your budget. The Old Farmhouse, which dates from 1850, is the original building on this beautiful property. You may prefer the modern Blue or Yellow Cottages, or the bright and open Loft. We have a guest laundry and an Internet corner for those who have to stay in contact with the outside world. Bikes, kayaks and a rowing boat are available upon request. Both the Blue and the Yellow cottage are newly-built in traditional style and individually decorated. Both enjoy gorgeous views of islands and ocean and privacy in an unspoiled natural setting. Each offers: 2 bedrooms for 4 persons (queen and twin). Living room with a sofabed. Dining area and modern kitchen with wall oven. Spacious 3-pc bathroom. TV/VCR. Cellphone. Wide patio doors open onto the big verandah overlooking the sea. Barrier-free design for wheelchair access throughout the house with roll-in showers. Hardwood floors. Fully equipped with linen, towels, and kitchenware. Fireplaces allow a comfortable stay in all four seasons. Decorated with Nova Scotian and international Folk Art. Barbecue, outside fireplace. Open year round. |
